venture between Merck KGaA (45%) and B. Grimm (55%), and is
an expansion of the Merck Group, which is a leading research-oriented
pharmaceutical and chemical company in Germany with a turnover
of more than USD 4,000 million.
The Merck Group has more than 28,000 employees worldwide
and manufactures in excess of 20,000 different items. The
company has manufacturing plants in 67 locations in 28 countries.
The group comprises of 47 companies with its own consolidated
subsidiaries.
In Thailand, Merck Ltd. is responsible for the marketing
and supplies of the pharmaceutical and chemical products of
Merck KgaA and associated companies to the hospitals, institutions
and industries in Thailand. Some of the chemical products
are pearl pigments for plastic, cosmetics, paint and fine
chemicals for drugs, cosmetics and electronic industries.
The company also produces different pharmaceutical products
for diabetic and gastro-intestinal and central nervous system.
